#MediaMonday: Collaboration

Good Morning Everyone,

It seems odd, but today, I am posting semester finals for my media classes! This moment seemed so far away in August and now, it's here. I think that we can all agree that this year will forever stand out as one of the most trying and challenging in the history of modern education. But I think that we can also agree that the need for collaboration has never felt more essential; we desperately need the support and encouragement of fellow educators.

While this year could have been marked with isolation, I have been grateful for the opportunities to connect with and meet teachers within the STN network. Collaboration during this season in our history is such a blessing, as it offers continued opportunities to share, laugh, and vent.

In the interest of connecting all of us, this week's resource is: STN Teacher Collaboration

There are currently a number of ways to connect with other teachers in the world of STN.

The two reoccurring events are:

Inside The Industry

For students and teachers to learn from a professional in media production, this monthly event is a great way to generate ideas and recharge. Our next ITI is on Tuesday at 5pm PST with LA Times Entertainment Director Christina Schoellkopf.

Teacher Talks

This time is for teachers to share, support and vent to the people who understand it the most: other teachers! The format for these are very open, allowing for great conversations and collaborations. Hosted by STN staff, these are a great way to rekindle the excitement of teaching within a strong community of educators.

Collaboration during these moments is absolutely essential, so mark your calendars for these great upcoming events; I cannot wait to see all of you!

Talk to you soon,

Josh Cantrell
