#MediaMonday: ITI Lesson Plan

Good Morning Everyone,

After an awesome Inside the Industry with Brig Muñoz-Liebowitz (writer for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Diary of a Future President, and People of Earth), I started to think about what we do for our students. During the Zoom call, Brig talked about learning the essentials of her career during her time with her middle school teacher, STN Treasurer Paul Kass. She talked about her experiences with Paul and how those lessons carried through to her life as a writer and producer.

This touching story served as a reminder that we will never know the impact that we have on our students. Watching Paul smile as she talked about his effect on her life was priceless and it once again proved to me that teachers change lives every day; that is our business.

So, in honor of Paul and Brig, this week's lesson is based on the tips and advice given by Brig about writing comedy sketches.

This week's Lesson: “In a Pickle”: A Sketch Comedy Lesson from a Sketch Comedy Writer.

It is a quick lesson but a fun one with quarantine accommodations for your virtual students.

Talk to you soon,

Josh Cantrell
