Future Convention Plan

Student Television Network is excited to announce our plans regarding our future convention locations. Starting in 2025, we will be implementing an East Coast/West Coast rotation for our national convention.

One of the primary reasons for implementing a rotation is to combat the skyrocketing hotel costs that have become a challenge in recent years. By securing long-term deals with our partner hotels and cities, we can keep the costs for our members as low as possible for the long term. This decision was made after careful review of the financial impact on both our attendees and STN, and our commitment to providing an affordable convention experience while still protecting STN’s resources for the future.

After careful consideration and an extensive search of numerous cities around the country, we have decided on the following locations:

  • March 1-4, 2025: Tampa Bay, Florida

  • February 28-March 3, 2026: Tampa Bay, Florida

  • March 18-21, 2027: Long Beach, California

  • March 18-21, 2028: Tampa Bay, Florida

  • March 8-11, 2029: Long Beach, California

  • 2030: A Surprise City to celebrate the start of a new decade!

We have chosen Tampa Bay and Long Beach based on their excellent facilities, accessibility, and the numerous opportunities they offer for our attendees. By alternating between the East Coast and West Coast, we aim to allow teachers predictable planning, grow attendance, reach a wider audience and develop a stable group of resources and vendors for STN and its members. These are both Tier 2 cities, which provide lower production costs and hotel rates than Tier 1 cities (Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Orlando, Houston).

We are thrilled about this opportunity for consistency and motivated to continue bringing a great convention to our teachers and students. We understand that change can sometimes be met with mixed feelings, but we firmly believe that this rotation will benefit everyone involved and will allow STN to explore other areas of growth in programming and regional events. As the dates for the upcoming conventions approach, we will provide more detailed information.
